Visitors to the St Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show will experience two inspiring examples of Riviera excellence when the highly awarded Australian luxury motor yacht builder presents the very popular 525 SUV and Belize 54 Daybridge designs for the first time in Tampa Bay, Florida (1- 4 December 2016).
The St Petersburg Premieres of the impressive 525 SUV and Belize 54 Daybridge will demonstrate Riviera’s genuine commitment to being amongst the leading luxury motor yacht builders in the world.
Riviera chairman and owner Rodney Longhurst said the 500-strong Riviera team based on Australia’s Gold Coast is delighted to be a part of the 39th St Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show and the two luxurious models will be displayed in conjunction with the marque’s West Coast Florida dealer, Sarasota Yacht & Ship.
“Since 1980, Riviera luxury motor yachts have been well and truly proven in the wide range of boating conditions throughout Australia, Asia, Europe and the Americas,” said Mr Longhurst.
“Our St Petersburg showcase will reflect how we continually strive for excellence, for exceptional blue-water sea-keeping capabilities and for a totally fulfilling boating experience.
“We invite you to come and experience how we are continuing to reward the growing Riviera Family with ‘the time of their lives’.”
The adventurous SUV collection from Riviera
The SUV series – one of five distinctive model collections from Australia’s 2015 and 2016 Marine Industry Exporter of the Year – reflects the growing worldwide appeal for luxury motor yachts with the versatility to meet the requirements of both the water sports enthusiast and cruising entertainer.
Riviera’s three SUV designs – the 445, 525 and 575 models – combine the high-performance, blue-water cruising and luxury livability attributes of the classic Riviera Flybridge collection, and the single-level, leisurely entertaining features of the stylish Riviera Sport Yacht design.
Riviera 525 SUV
St Petersburg Premiere
The 525 SUV – with an overall length of 17.61m (57’9”) – enables owners to enjoy a luxurious alfresco lifestyle with considerable entertaining features in the cockpit, including lounges fore and aft and barbecue amenities.
The rear sliding door and awning window of the salon are tinted, tempered glass set in a highly polished, ship-like stainless steel frame. When the rear bulkhead is open, it creates one unified space from the boarding platform right through to the front windscreen.
The 525’s interior is filled with light and fresh air courtesy of opening, tinted side windows and two electric sliding sunroofs which are built into the solid GRP hardtop, whilst the huge windscreen looking out over the forward deck and bow draws additional light below to the luxurious three-stateroom, two-bathroom accommodation deck.
The 525’s master stateroom is located on the portside and features a queen-sized walk-around bed with considerable storage and a contemporary palette of elegant fabric, soft-touch leatherette and satin oak with teak accents, as well as its own en suite. Depending on specific owner requirements, the aft master stateroom can be configured as a guest stateroom featuring full-length, adult-sized twin beds, with the forward stateroom becoming the master.
The air-conditioned VIP guest stateroom also features a comfortable queen-sized walk-around bed and expansive hull windows and dual deck hatches maximize natural light and ventilation. There’s an opening porthole and large hull window in the starboard aft twin cabin as well. Here there are adult-sized twin beds, as well as cedar-lined hanging locker, drawers and under-bed storage.
“The 525 SUV – which carries 3500-litre fuel tanks for longer-range cruising – has joysticks at the helm and to starboard in the cockpit,” said Mr Longhurst. “The innovative joystick offers slow-speed manoeuvrability when backing up on a prize catch, in addition to precise docking.”
Riviera has selected the proven D11-IPS800 system to power the 525 SUV, with twin D11 engines and IPS20 pod-drives (2 x 626hp/441kW). Owners have the option of upgrading to the popular IPS2-950 pod-drive package (2 x 725hp/655kW).
Belize – a totally new tradition from Riviera
The distinctive Belize collection from Riviera is inspired by timeless design and incorporating Australian practicality and superior sea-keeping with the latest in technological innovation.
Her sophisticated styling, opulent interior, clever storage concepts and high-performance hull are key attributes that set Belize apart.
Belize 54 Daybridge
St Petersburg Premiere
“The 54 Daybridge – with large tender garage under the cockpit as well as three staterooms and two bathrooms including full-beam master – has the ability to transfix an entire bay of modern craft when she glides in,” says Mr Longhurst.
“She was designed to cater for the growing affection for high-end luxury motor yachts that boast an nostalgic design, blending traditional elegance with the latest in marine technology.”
The Belize 54 Daybridge’s luxurious cockpit is the perfect place to enjoy a lazy breakfast or drink in a sunset, and seamlessly connects with the sumptuous salon courtesy of Riviera’s signature aft awning window.
In the saloon, panels of rich hand-polished walnut, solid teak flooring and soft-touch Italian leathers are used in a contemporary palette to create a warm and inviting ambiance, with an added bonus of contributing to excellent acoustics.
The main command console of the Belize is inspiring in its design and maintains the elegant sophistication of this 6-star pleasure yacht – all key critical navigation electronics, engine instrumentation and vessel controls are within reach of the central high-backed Treban Italian leather electric helm seat.
The inviting upper helm of the Belize 54 Daybridge is accessed via an elegantly curving, stainless steel, teak-tread staircase from the cockpit and is just as sociable as the main saloon, with a large L-shaped lounge to port with teak hi-lo table that can drop to create a second sun-pad.
There is also a wet bar and drawer fridge as well as a second-station helm console with all essential navigation aids, a wind-deflecting windscreen, a 12-inch touchscreen display and a bimini that easily folds away and stores out of sight behind the windscreen.
The Belize 54 – also available as a Sedan model – now offers owners the choice of twin Cummins Zeus 600 (2 x 442kW/600hp) engines and pod-drive units, Volvo Penta’s D11-IPS800 system with twin D11 engines and IPS20 pod-drive units (2 x 460kW/626hp) or the D11-IPS950 system with twin D11 engines and IPS20 pod-drive units (2 x 533kW/725hp).
Each Belize 54 propulsion option offers innovative glass bridge navigation and monitoring features as well as up to three joysticks – at the main helm and in the cockpit on the port-side, and at the daybridge helm.
The Riviera Advantage
Riviera is recognized as being at the forefront of the luxury motor yacht market, not only in terms of superior build quality but through fully embracing innovative and easy-to-use systems and technology onboard its internationally acclaimed designs.
“A 5-year warranty on all Volvo Penta systems is now standard with every new Riviera, spanning Volvo Penta helm stations, steering and propellers as well as the major componentry of their high performance drivelines and fuel-efficient engines,” said Mr Longhurst.
“Available worldwide, this extended warranty complements the Riviera 5-year structural warranty and provides even greater peace of mind for our valued Riviera boating family members,” he said.
