Highly awarded Australian luxury yacht builder Riviera will proudly present an inspiring example of excellence when it rolls out the red carpet to welcome visitors to the 44th annual Fort Meyers Boat Show from 17-20 November 2016.
Staged at the Harborside Event Center in conjunction with Riviera and Belize dealer Sarasota Yachts and Ship, the adventurous 525 model from Riviera’s very popular crossover SUV collection will be showcased.
Riviera chairman and owner Rodney Longhurst said the 500-strong Riviera team based on Australia’s Gold Coast is delighted to be a part of the Fort Meyers Boat Show in the heart of Florida’s historic River District.
“Since 1980, Riviera luxury motor yachts have been well and truly proven in the wide range of boating conditions throughout Australia, Asia, Europe and the Americas,” he said.
“Our Fort Meyers showcase – located at W/H-13 – will reflect how we continually strive for excellence, for exceptional blue-water sea-keeping capabilities and for a totally fulfilling boating experience.”
Riviera 525 SUV – The Ultimate Crossover Yacht
Fort Meyers Premiere
Riviera’s innovative SUV collection is a clear reflection of the growing worldwide appeal for luxury motor yachts with the versatility to meet the requirements of both the avid angler and cruising entertainer.
Riviera’s three SUV designs – the 445, 525 and 575 models – combine the high-performance, blue-water cruising and luxury livability attributes of the classic Riviera Flybridge collection, and the single-level, leisurely entertaining features of the stylish Riviera Sport Yacht design.
The 525 SUV enables owners to enjoy a luxurious alfresco lifestyle. There is fixed seating at the transom, with options for storage or live bait tank, as well as a comfortable three-seater cockpit mezzanine lounge to port. There is also an optional integrated and interchangeable table to provide a versatile alfresco entertaining area, and which can also be converted to a daybed.
To starboard there’s a lift-up lid with gas strut that reveals a double BBQ with stainless steel splashback and LED lighting, icemaker, sink, solid surface bench top and enough storage to impress even the most discerning chef.
The rear sliding door and awning window of the salon are tinted, tempered glass set in a highly polished, ship-like stainless steel frames. When the rear bulkhead is open, it creates one unified space from the boarding platform right through to the front windscreen.
Opening, tinted side windows and two electric sliding sunroofs are built into the solid GRP hardtop to draw more light and fresh air into the salon, whilst the huge windscreen looking out over the forward deck and bow draws additional light below to the luxurious three-stateroom, two-bathroom accommodation deck.
The 525’s master stateroom is located on the portside and features a queen-sized walk-around bed with considerable storage, cedar-lined hanging lockers, two bedside tables and a contemporary palette of elegant fabric, soft-touch leatherette and satin oak with teak accents. Natural light is achieved through a large hull window and, although air-conditioned, there’s an opening porthole to bring in fresh air that is alarmed to the helm as a precaution against being left open.
The master en suite forward also features full headroom, luxurious bathroom fixtures, ample storage cupboards, overhead and vanity lighting, solid surface bench top as well as a contemporary porcelain sink and mixer tap.
Depending on specific owner requirements, the aft master stateroom can be configured as a guest stateroom featuring full-length, adult-sized twin beds, with the forward stateroom becoming the master.
The air-conditioned VIP guest stateroom also features a comfortable queen-sized walk-around bed, cleverly placed overhead cabinets with positive locking hardware and gas support struts as well as large his/hers cedar-lined hanging lockers. Expansive hull windows and dual deck hatches maximize natural light and ventilation.
Of course, the premium finish philosophy also applies to the en suite, which mirrors the luxurious master bathroom. In the standard layout, the guest en suite starboard doubles as a day head.
There’s an opening porthole and large hull window in the starboard aft twin cabin as well, enhancing the abundance of light and ventilation throughout the accommodation deck. Here there are adult-sized twin beds, as well as cedar-lined hanging locker, drawers and under-bed storage.
The ease of joysticks
“The 525 SUV – which carries 3500-litre fuel tanks for longer-range cruising – has joysticks at the helm and to starboard in the cockpit,” said Mr Longhurst. “The innovative joystick offers slow-speed maneuverability when backing up on a prize catch, in addition to precise docking.
Riviera has selected the proven D11-IPS800 system to power the 525 SUV, with twin D11 engines and IPS20 pod-drives (2 x 626hp/441kW). Owners have the option of upgrading to the popular IPS2-950 pod drive package (2 x 725hp/655kW).
The Riviera Advantage
Riviera is recognized as being at the forefront of the luxury motor yacht market, not only in terms of superior build quality but through fully embracing innovative and easy-to-use systems and technology onboard its internationally acclaimed designs.
“A 5-year warranty on all Volvo Penta systems is now standard with the 525 SUV and every new Riviera, spanning Volvo Penta helm stations, steering and propellers as well as the major componentry of their high performance drivelines and fuel-efficient engines,” said Mr Longhurst.
“Available worldwide, this extended warranty complements the Riviera 5-year structural warranty and provides even greater peace of mind for our valued Riviera boating family members,” he said.
