Riviera and Belize share their ‘ethos of excellence’ at the Norwalk International In-Water Boat Show
Riviera Australia – renowned internationally for its hallmark ‘ethos of excellence’ – will present a stunning showcase of world-class luxury motor yachts at Norwalk International In-Water Boat Show in Connecticut (USA) from 24-27 September 2015.
Australia’s 2015 Marine Industry Exporter of the Year, Riviera will demonstrate its passion for innovation through the true blue-water Riviera 43 Open Flybridge and the timelessly classic Belize 54 Daybridge on display at Norwalk Cove Marina.
Riviera’s US-based international sales director Chris McCafferty said boat show visitors would also be given an insight into what Riviera likes to call ‘the ultimate boating experience’.
“The name Riviera stands synonymous on an international scale with luxury, technology and blue-water sea-keeping capability, proven over 35 years in some of the most challenging waters in the world, as well as an unrivalled owner support network,” he said.
“Indeed, Riviera and Belize owners right around the world enjoy truly unique educational, social and experiential cruising events in company with fellow members of our growing global family of owners. Our North East owners in particular form a very strong contingent of our loyal and growing family of Riviera and Belize owners and we look forward to welcoming them at our red-carpet display in Norwalk.”
Since 1980, Riviera has launched over 5100 motor yachts that embody innovation, have a pioneering approach to design and reflect the luxury marque’s commitment to being amongst the best in the world.
Mr McCafferty said that the 480-strong team of dedicated designers, engineers and master craftsmen at Riviera’s world-class facility on Australia’s Gold Coast is inspired by the growing global affection for Riviera and Belize motor yachts and is absolutely focused on creating and building the best Rivieras ever.
“The current Riviera range – spanning 17 individual models across five very distinct model collections – caters to an extremely wide range of boating pursuits and individual styles to suit the most discerning boating aficionados,” said Mr McCafferty.
“We will have details of all our models – including our latest impressive designs of the Riviera 52 Enclosed Flybridge, 57 Enclosed Flybridge, 67 Sports Motor Yacht and 575 SUV– available for inspection in Norwalk.”
Riviera 43 Open Flybridge – true blue-water classic on display
The Riviera 43 Open Flybridge incorporates great function and style within a supremely comfortable, sea-kindly hull. The most striking aspect about this Riviera creation is its design approach – a thoroughly modern approach to flybridge design that is helping to create a new era of on-water enjoyment.
“The 43 Open Flybridge from Riviera also brings the outdoors in, creating an alfresco environment with a glass awning window enhancing the seamless transition between the expansive 122.9 square feet (11.42m2) cockpit and the contemporary leather and rich, varnished timber interior,” said Mr McCafferty.
“The main salon is both elegant and practical with starboard U-shaped premium leather lounge encompassing hi-lo-dining table that folds and lowers to become a coffee table, or extra bed, complementing those on the accommodation deck, where the master stateroom forward features a queen-sized island bed and ensuite bathroom. The full-beam guest aft stateroom features three adult-sized beds, two of which can slide together to create a double. This stateroom has private access to the second bathroom as a true ensuite, or can be separated to allow this bathroom to serve as the day head.”
The flybridge of the 43 Open Flybridge, accessible from the cockpit via the Riviera design ‘stair-ladder’, offers 360-degree vision with minimal interruption thanks to the structural hardtop canopy.
Popular power in this versatile motor yacht is via twin Volvo Penta IPS2-600 pod drives (320kW x 435hp x 2) with D6 engines which achieve an approximate cruising range of 340 nautical miles at 24.5 knots, with 10 per cent fuel reserve depending on load and sea conditions.
Belize 54 Daybridge - the totally new tradition of motor yachts on display
The Belize 54 Daybridge from Riviera is a three-stateroom/two-bathroom design with full-beam master stateroom and two helm stations – a delicate balance of European flair and Australian practicality and incorporating sophisticated styling, palatial appointments and innovative storage solutions.
“The Belize 54 Daybridge – inspired by timeless elegance and Australian practicality – was designed to cater for the growing affection for high-end luxury motor yachts blending traditional design with the latest in marine technology, and is available in both Daybridge and Sedan models,” said Mr McCafferty.
“The Belize truly does have the ability to transfix an entire bay of modern craft when she glides in – and she has an impeccable blue water pedigree that is proven to handle the tough Australian offshore conditions.”
There are two engine options for the Belize 54 Daybridge – twin Cummins Zeus pod drives (442kW/600hp x 2) or twin Volvo Penta IPS2-950 (533kW/725hp x 2) pod drives with innovative glass bridge navigation system. Each option provides three joysticks and CZone digital switching, as well as a range of features that maximize and enhance living space while at the same time providing convenient access to every key maintenance point, ensuring service costs are kept to a minimum.
Mr McCafferty said the chain of Norwalk islands – with access just an hour’s drive from New York City – were a popular destination for luxury motor yacht enthusiasts.
“The Norwalk region is one of the most important centers of recreational boating in the western Long Island Sound,” he said. “Riviera is looking forward to sharing the magic of Riviera and Belize at the Norwalk International In-Water Boat Show daily from 10am-6pm from 24-27 September 2015.”

Riviera set to celebrate with three stunning examples of excellence in New Zealand
Riviera Australia, in conjunction with its New Zealand dealer R Marine Flagship, has announced three striking examples of style and excellence for its $NZD7 million red-carpet showcase of motor yacht luxury at Auckland On Water Boat Show from 24-27 September 2015 on display number M-13.
The models on display will be the marque’s true blue-water classic 63 Enclosed Flybridge, sporty and adventurous 515 SUV and the timelessly classic 54 Daybridge from the Belize Motoryachts collection.
Riviera chairman and owner Rodney Longhurst said the global Riviera family of owners had long-included a very strong contingent of New Zealanders with an appreciation for the Riviera hallmarks of luxury, innovation, blue-water sea-keeping abilities and unrivalled owner support.
“We are very proud to again be supporting R Marine Flagship with the 17th annual Auckland On Water Boat Show in the magnificent Viaduct Harbour,” said Mr Longhurst. “We will once again demonstrate the evolution of Riviera’s 35 years of building motor yachts that are recognised internationally as being amongst the best in the world.”
Flybridge freedom from Riviera
From its highly regarded Flybridge collection, the Riviera 63 Enclosed is a superbly seaworthy, highly capable, long-range luxury offshore motor yacht.
“She has all the practicalities of a sportfisher although her cockpit can easily be converted to a first-class alfresco dining space aft of the galley, from which a large glass awning window opens to create free-flowing views and space from windscreen to swim platform,” said Mr Longhurst.
“Inside, there is comfortable seating for up to 12 people in the saloon … and panoramic views from each of these seating positions.
“Adjacent to the 63’s U-shaped galley is an internal staircase leading upstairs to the flybridge which is, in effect, a virtual sky lounge. Located here are an electric sliding sunroof and another hinged awning window and glass door also opening to bring the outdoors in, creating one large open space encompassing the modern upholstered wrap-around forward helm, a dinette with lounge seating, wet bar and large-screen TV. Outside, to port and overlooking the cockpit, is a lounge and, to starboard, an aft docking station.”
Below decks is a four-stateroom/three bathroom accommodation plan with a port-side master with queen-sized island bed bathed in natural light and fresh air. The VIP guest stateroom forward also has a queen-sized island bed and, in the optional three-stateroom layout, can be converted into a guest suite complete with writing bureau or private lounge.
Popular power in the Riviera 63 – also available as an Open Flybridge – are 2 x MAN V12 shaft-driven engines (1175kW/1575hp) that have her achieving an approximate cruising range of 409nm at 28.5 knots with 10 per cent fuel reserve.
Stylish and sporty Riviera SUV
Riviera’s rapidly growing crossover SUV series – offering 445, 515 and 575 models – is the perfect pairing of two legendary designs, combining the high-performance, blue-water cruising and fish-raising abilities of the classic Riviera Flybridge with the single-level leisurely entertaining features of the very popular Sport Yacht series – a true bridge between them both.
The 515 SUV model offers myriad options to suit specific boating requirements – from recreational cruising and luxury entertaining to serious deep-sea fishing.
“The innovative pod propulsion systems employed in the SUV series delivers impressive fuel savings as well as notable internal volume from bow to stern, and every inch of extra available space is put to purpose by Riviera’s award-winning designers and engineers courtesy of an intrinsically detailed 3D design process,” said Mr Longhurst.
“The striking exterior profile of the 515 SUV is just the first indication that this is a hallmark design from Riviera. From the moment you step aboard you will sense this new approach in our styling – double transom doors create an island transom BBQ and storage centre aft of an already expansive, Flybridge-scale cockpit … extending it further out to the large teak-laid swim platform as part of the greater alfresco area.
“The 515 also has an amazing sense of light and space, captured through panoramic saloon sliding windows, huge curved glass windscreen, two electric Webasto sunroofs and an awning window opening out and over the cockpit, all of which work in tandem to create a free-flowing space from the helm right through to the boarding platform.”
The tinted, tempered glass awning window also appoints the modern port-side aft galley, complete with modern appliances and a satin-varnish finish, as the hub of the social scene and places the chef right in the heart of proceedings.
The 515’s spacious saloon also features all the comforts of home, including plush leather lounges both port and starboard, clever design concepts that create extra seating around the hi-lo dining table, and a 32-inch television and entertainment system which rises at the touch of a button for viewing from every saloon seating position.
All critical navigation electronics, comprehensive engine instrumentation and vessel controls are within easy reach of two leather Navigator helm seats in the 515’s sports-styled command console which has the latest in marine technology, including joystick control for slow-speed manoeuvring and precise docking, and clever C-Zone digital switching.
“Below deck, the 515 SUV offers a flexible three-stateroom/two-bathroom accommodation layout – and again there is absolutely no compromise in terms of onboard luxury and liveability, with full headroom throughout as well as Riviera’s renowned satin varnish cabinetry, and hard-wearing yet stylish timber-finish flooring,” Mr Longhurst said. “The very generous master stateroom aft on the port-side has a queen island bed with innovative storage space underneath, a large hull window with opening port hole to bring in extra light and fresh air, as well as an exquisitely elegant ensuite with luxurious fixtures and overhead deck hatch with Oceanair screen to ensure maximum privacy. The forward VIP guest stateroom is every bit of luxurious as the master, with an ensuite mirroring the master and, in fact, this stateroom can be the master if desired. The starboard twin single berth cabin also has a large hull window and an opening port hole to ensure the complete comfort of all guests.”
The 515 SUV on display in Auckland is powered the new-generation twin Volvo IPS 950’s (533kW/725hp), achieving a cruising range of approximately 348nm at 29.1 knots, with 10 per cent fuel reserve.
“The SUV series, in particular, opens up a new world of boating enjoyment for both the cruising entertainer and the avid angler. Indeed, our valued owners tell us it’s like having two boats … in one," said Mr Longhurst
“Our dealers, R Marine Flagship, have one 515 SUV available for immediate delivery and this model will be on show in Auckland.”
The totally new tradition of Belize
Also on display in Auckland will be the distinctive new Belize 54 Daybridge, inspired by timeless design and incorporating Australian practicality and superior sea-keeping with the latest in technological innovation from around the globe. Her sophisticated styling, opulent interior, clever storage concepts and high-performance hull are key attributes that sets Belize apart.
“The 54 Daybridge – with large tender garage under the cockpit as well as three staterooms including full beam master – has the ability to transfix an entire bay of modern craft when she glides in,” said Mr Longhurst. “She was designed to cater for the growing affection for high-end luxury motor yachts that boast an nostalgic design, blending traditional elegance with the latest in marine technology.”
Powered by twin Cummins Zeus 600 pod drives (442kW/600hp), the 54 Daybridge has a cruising range of approximately 304nm at 21.1 knots, with 10 per cent fuel reserve and is available for immediate delivery in Auckland.
