Riviera 4400 sport yacht gets the star treatment It was her time to shine as the immaculately presented Riviera 4400 Sport Yacht, Dragon VI, prepared to star in her first international television commercial. Moored at the Royal Motor Yacht Club in Newport, New South Wales on the east coast of Australia, Dragon VI, was washed and waxed and looking pristine when the film crew arrived at 7.30am to set up for the filming of a new Jacob’s Creek wine commercial for Asia. Directed by one of Australia’s most acclaimed television commercial directors, David Deneen, the Jacob’s Creek wine commercial featured the stunning Riviera 4400 Sport Yacht. Proud owner Gordon Cockley said his boat was recommended for use in the television commercial by Andrew Moore, who is the second hand broker at the Royal Motor Yacht Club at Newport, NSW. “I know David personally through the Royal Motor Yacht Club and I knew his reputation for being a top director,” Mr Cockley said. “I was amazed at what the film crew did and they all loved the boat. “I was there the whole day. The trucks arrived at about 7.30am and they were filming until about 6.30pm. They did a sunset shot as well. “It was unbelievable the amount of people and equipment, they were very professional and it was an extremely interesting day.” Mr Cockley received a few bottles of wine as a thank you for allowing the film crew to use his boat in the television commercial, which he said was a nice drop indeed. This is Mr Cockley’s third Riviera. His last boat was a 47 Flybridge also named, Dragon, which Mr Cockley said was named after his wife, Eileen. “I am still married to the original dragon,” he laughed. “When we got into serious boating we named all our boats, Dragon, but the 4400 has the IPS system with the joystick control for docking and I find that extremely good – I wouldn’t have it any other way, it’s a revelation.”
